When the crowd consists of 500 000 people, it couldn’t go painless. Two people died. One of them died of a heroin-overdose, and the other one died in a sleeping bag when he was run over by a tractor.

Some of the artist who performed at Woodstock were Joe Cocker, Jimi Hendrix, Richie Havens, The Band, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Johnny Winter and Santana.

The Beatles consists of 4 boys:

HOW DID THEY BECOME A BAND?

John Lennon began playing the guitar when he was 14 years old, and fast he started the “Skiffle” group The Quarrymen – named after his old school. He started The Quarrymen in 1957. He invited Paul McCartney to join the band in July the same year. George Harrison was a young and very accomplished guitarist, who joined The Quarrymen in 1958 – but the band was dissolved autumn 1959.
The Quarrymen had many different band names, sometimes they choosed name from opportunity to opportunity.
The different names to the band:
  • Johnny and the Moon Dogs
  • The Silver Beetles
  • The Beetles
  • Before they ended up with The Beatles

People started and quit with regular spaces – the only one that was in the band for a longer time was: John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison.

POPULARITY
The Beatles break through came with the song ”Love Me Do” in 1962. Soon they achived a popularity the world hadn't seen before.
People want to look like them, have the same haircut as these nice young men from Liverpool.the beatles love me do.jpg
Their records "She Loves You", "Can't Buy Me Love", "I Feel Fine" and many others was on top of the hitlists. People were "crazy" about them, and we call it a "Beatlemania". They also released two films "Help", "A Hard Day's Night" which became very popular too.
John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote most of the songs together.
After a while the music started to change, Lennon and McCartney was influenced by Indian Philosophy and Music. They used a whole new studiotechnique and instruments that changed the way people looked at pop-music. The records "Revolver" and "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" are examples of these changes.

In 1970 The Beatles was no longer a band. However, the members continued making brilliant music and 45 years later The Beatles is still popular among people all over the world.
The musicians continued making music on their own and with other artists. Paul McCartney had a band called "The Wings" and a great solo career.
John Lennon also released albums with his wife Yoko Ono i.e. "Imagine". He was assasinated in New York in December 1980.
